After the release of Final Fantasy XV a lot of players raised concern about chapter 13, the point where the game becomes completely linear oppose to open-world. Hajime Tabata, FFXV’s game director responded to players concerns :

“the amount of stress inflicted on the player while running through this chapter was greater than we had anticipated. We believe resolving this issue will naturally lead to a better gameplay experience.”

The update should fix any issues players had with the chapter, I personally made a point to keep a save right before then to go back after the update. The update, as well as “Episode Gladio” will release on March 28th. The DLC will be from the prespective of Gladio, and is an original episode. Square Enix also confirmed an update for February 21st which will allow PS4 Pro support, raise the level cap to 120, allow for music listening while riding chocobos, and add limited time quests.
