PlayStation Plus Price Increase Starts in September

According to a PlayStation Blog post, PlayStation’s online service, PlayStation Plus, will receive a price increase. Starting on September 22, PlayStation Plus will cost $59.99 USD/ $69.99 CAD for one year and $24.99 USD/ $29.99 CAD for three months. Monthly plans will stay at $9.99 USD in the U.S., but will increase to $11.99 CAD in Canada. This will be the first price increase PS Plus memerships have received.

Similarly to Xbox Live, PlayStation Plus is required to play most games online. Additionally, the online gaming service features several games from all the PlayStation’s platforms. Recently, Rebel Galaxy and Tricky Towers headlined this month’s free games lineup. Other features include exclusive discounts and online game save storage.

You can still purchase PS Plus for $49.99 USD before the price increases in September on the PlayStation Store and other retailers.

Video games are pretty cool. My favorite game of all time is Galaga. Other hobbies include comic books, watching fake wrestling, hitting drums and breathing.
