Satoru Iwata Custom Amiibo is Being Auctioned Off for Charity

Photos of customized amiibo figures can be found all over the internet, and some have some very unique twists to them. After Satoru Iwata’s passing in July, fans created and signed a petition for Nintendo to honor their late President as an amiibo figure. The petition garnered 27,400 signatures since it was created.

Although it seems unlikely that Nintendo will capitalize on the passing of a beloved gaming industry figure, one fan is finding a way to commemorate him. Artist  GandaKris recently launched an eBay auction for a custom Mii Fighter amiibo resembling Satoru Iwata’s Mii character. Proceeds from the auction will go to support Child’s Play charity, an organization that aims to help children in hospitals and domestic violence shelters through the kindness of the video game industry.

As of 7:00 p.m. EST, the highest bid stands at $1,775.00.
