Indie developer Flippfly has announced that endless runner Race the Sun will be arriving on the Wii U eShop this August. Release date has not yet been confirmed, and the official Nintendo website still lists it as Q2 2015.
The game has you pilot a solar-powered aircraft that you maneuver around the world’s obstacles at breakneck speeds. Your objective is to stay in the sunlight for as long as possible until the sun sets. The game takes a lot of inspiration from games like Star Fox and classic arcade games where your goal is to attain the highest score possible.
The developer shares:
Given the simply fun nature of the game, and the Star Fox inspired visual style, it feels like a perfect fit. Race The Sun is running great on the system and we are excited to see how Nintendo fans will respond.”
The game will support Wii U Off-TV Play and the use of a Wii U Pro Controller.
