My First Time Playing AVGN Adventures

Welcome everybody to another installment of My First Time Playing. If you are unsure about what’s going on here, please refer to our previous articles in the series for more information. Today we are going to talk about something based on a popular web series that I’ve been wanting to play for some time now. What I’m talking about you might ask? Read on to find out.

The sixth title in our series is Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures for Wii U. It’s a pretty straight forward side scrolling action title that harkens back to the NES days in terms of both style and gameplay. After waiting for what seemed like forever for it to hit consoles, I finally got the chance to play this game, and all I have to say is that it was well worth the wait. Let’s go back to the past, and play something worthwhile for once.

Here’s the story. One day, after playing some bad games together, the nerd and his friends get pulled into the TV set, and are now a part of their very own video game. With no other way out, our friends must now platform and shoot their way through a number of different stages in order to survive. From the moment I started this one up, all I can say is that it is an enjoyable, yet extremely challenging experience that fans of the AVGN should definitely consider checking out.

Well that about wraps up My First Time Playing AVGN Adventures, and all I can is that being reminded of the good old days isn’t always a bad thing. I guess the only question left to ask is will I play it again? Absolutely, just need to refine my platforming skills a bit though, otherwise beating the game will be next to impossible to do.

If you have any suggestions on other games we should tryout, feel free to let us know about them in the comments below.
