Nintendo Download of the Week: Go Ahead and Dive Right In

It’s that time once again for us to check out what’s new in the world of Nintendo Downloads. Today seems to like promising as far as DLC for existing titles is concerned, but in terms of original games, it’s a very sparse offering to say the least. While there could possibly be a gem in here somewhere, nothing about this update really jumps off the page to me at all. That being said, let’s see if anything here is worth checking out shall we?

My pick for Nintendo Download of the Week is Dolphin Up for the Wii U Download Service. It has an ESRB rating of E for Everyone, and is currently available for download in the eShop at the asking price of $3.99. The reason why I gave this one a chance was because it looks like an interesting twist on the old formula skating games used for rewarding points for scoring tricks, but using a diving mechanic instead of skateboard. If you think this idea sounds intriguing, then by all means download this title as soon as possible.

Not in the mood for diving into the abyss, don’t worry, there are still two more Wii U Download titles, two new Wii U VC titles, two discounted Wii U titles, one Wii U title available for pre-order, some new Wii U DLC, one new 3DS Download title, some new 3DS DLC, one new 3DS Retail Download title, ten discounted 3DS titles, one new 3DS Demo, three new 3DS themes available for download. Relive the good old days of handheld gaming in Tri-Strip. Enjoy yet another drop down puzzle experience in Puzzle Monkeys. Enjoy giving gifts to others in Mappy Land. See how well this excavating classic holds up when playing Dig Dug. Your two discounted Wii U titles are Spongebob Squarepants: Plankton’s Robotic Revenge ($19.99 until Feb. 12th), and GetClose: A Game for Rivals ($2.99 until Feb. 19th).The Wii U title available for pre-order is Kirby and The Rainbow Curse. The new Wii U DLC is for the game Hyrule Warriors, and it is called the Majora’s Mask Pack.

As usual, one paragraph won’t do it, so here we go. See how fun origami can be in Kami. Go back to where Nintendo games began in Game & Watch Gallery 3. Your 3DS DLC is Episodes 2-4 for the game Moon Chronicles. Who lives in a, well, I think you can see where this is going when you start playing Spongebob Heropants. Your first six discounted 3DS titles are Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan (discounted Feb. 9th-16th), Code of Princess (discounted Feb. 9th-16th), Moon Chronicles Episode 1 ($4.50 until Feb. 26th), Soccer Up Online (discounted until Feb. 26th), Soccer Up 3D (discounted until Feb. 26th), and Classic Games Overload: Card + Puzzle Edition ($19.99 until Feb. 19th). The other four are Christmas Wonderland 3 ($4.99 starting Feb. 6th), Halloween: Trick or Treat 2 ($4.99 starting Feb. 6th), Mystery Murders: Jack the Ripper ($4.99 starting Feb. 6th), and Mystery Murders: The Sleeping Palace ($4.99 starting Feb. 6th). The new 3DS demo is for the game Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate.

Finally, your three new 3DS themes are Colorful Game and Watch ($1.99), NES Fire Breathing Browser ($1.99), and NES Fire Mario ($1.99).

All of this, and more, is currently available for download in the 3DS and Wii U eShops right now, have fun!
