We’re about two weeks away from the North American release of the New Nintendo 3DS XL. Some of the main selling points for the upcoming handheld include improved 3D viewing angles by way of face tracker, built-in NFC capabilities, faster download times, additional shoulder buttons and c-stick, and a stronger CPU capable of handling more demanding games like the exclusive Xenoblade Chronicles.
The New 3DS and New 3DS XL’s battery lives were also brought up as a major selling point, but how much longer do they last when compared to the older models? Youtube channel FamilyGamerTV tested out the battery life of all 3DS systems. According to their results, the New 3DS battery lasts 1 hour and 18 minutes more than that of the original 3DS. The New 3DS XL battery outlasts the original 3DS XL model’s by a mere 44 minutes. The battery life was tested with the 3D function turned off.
